Stephen Friday - Conveyancing Solicitor

 

We regret to inform you that our senior partner, Stephen Friday, died on 13 May 2019. All of us at Percy Short & Cuthbert have been touched by the condolences and many messages of support we have received from Stephen’s clients and associates. We miss Stephen deeply – for his kindness, his humour and his endless patience, amongst his many other good qualities – but are determined to continue Stephen’s work and our service to our clients.

 

Stephen Friday was the senior partner of the firm. He qualified in 1990 and joined the firm in 1996 as the partner in charge of the non-contentious department. He was a member of the Law Advisory Panels of De Montfort University and the College of Law at Store Street, London. He was also an Honorary Industrial Advisor to the London Metropolitan University, a former member of the Joint Academic Stage Board and an assessor for the CPE Course. Stephen was also former chair of the Black Solicitors Network (see https://www.blacksolicitorsnetwork.co.uk/tribute-to-stephen-friday-bsn-director-and-co-founder/).

Stephen specialised in all aspects of residential and commercial property, with special expertise in shared ownership, Right to Buy and lease extension matters. He advised on estate planning, wills and probate and non-contentious contractual matters too.

Stephen was a governor of Grafton Primary School and the Treasurer and former Chair of the Nag's Head Town Centre Management Group.
