We are pleased to announce that this November 2014 we will be participating in Will Aid 2014. It is a fundraising campaign in which clients instruct us to prepare wills but instead of paying our fee, they make a donation to the Will Aid group of charities. The suggested minimum donation is £95 for a single basic will and £150 for a pair of mirror wills. No VAT is payable.
The money raised is shared by the 9 Will Aid charities: ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland). They work to transform the lives of people in the UK and around the world. Since its launch over 25 years ago Will Aid has raised over £15 million and an estimated £95 million has been pledged as legacies by some of the 275,000 people who have made their wills through the scheme.
By having an up-to-date and properly written will you can ensure that your money and possessions will be distributed according to your wishes and you can also avoid difficulties for your relatives and friends after your death.
Will Aid is for people making a basic will, i.e. one in which the will-maker leaves his or her estate to a limited number of people and does not require complicated tax advice.
Our participation in the Will Aid scheme is limited to 20 appointments which will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. All enquiries should be referred to Abigail Fairley in the first instance or, in her absence, to Naureen Matlib.
If you miss out on this occasion you can contact the Will Aid organisation on telephone number 0300 0300 013 - it may be able to recommend an alternative, local firm.
