Shobha Naik is a solicitor specialising in family, divorce, children and housing law

Shobha Naik was admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales in 1996, and  joined Percy Short & Cuthbert in 2002, and became a Partner in 2005.  She is also the firm's  Compliance Officer Legal Practice.

Shobha specialises in all aspects of Family Law, including

  • Relationship breakdown;
  • Divorce and Separation;
  • Cohabitation and 'living together' issues;
  • Children's issues, such as contact, residence and parental responsibilities;
  • Financial and Property settlements on divorce and separation; and
  • Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements

Her approach to family disputes is pragmatic and conciliatory, with specific aim to minimise legal costs for her clients.  She prioritises the needs of the family and in particular the best interests of any children of the famly.  Court proceedings can be very expensive and there can be no real winners and losers when a family unit breaks down, with lasting emotional hardships.  She therefore adopts the Resolution Code of Practice in all aspects of her Family Law practice.

Shobha also undertakes residential conveyancing on behalf of both sellers and buyers, including acting in residential sales and purchases,shared ownership purchase and re-sales, remortgages and agreed lease extensions. 

She is fluent in Gujarati and has a working knowledge of Hindi.
